An Jianjun graduated with an arts degree from Shandong University of Art & Design in 1988. As an avant-garde artist and professional designer, he has over twenty years of experience and has had many of his works featured and exhibited. His artworks are a reflection of human life and modern society with many added to the collections of friends and collectors. Some of his most prominent works include Crow, Renoir Bathing Girl, Coffee Shop, and Dancing. In addition to painting, he has also designed many large-scale architectural works, including the reconstruction of the cultural landmark Yao Temple in Linfen, Shanxi, the library at North China Institute of Technology, and many more.

In 2005, he immigrated to Canada, and in 2006, he founded the NPC College of Arts & Design. He continued to pursue his love for oil paintings and design, incorporating not only the traditional Oriental style of his homeland but also constantly seeking for new breakthroughs, thoroughly researching the language and beauty perspectives of Western art. With an increased understanding of Western art, his own art style also began to slowly shift and change, until it became a merge of both east and west. His art carries the charm of Oriental culture but also conveys a unique hint of Western art. At the same time, he is also devoted to teaching to let more children thoroughly understand the variety, creativity, and international aspects of art. He wishes to allow students who come from China to fully experience, feel, and understand the essence behind Western art and to guide and educate these students to enter the top art and design universities in all over the world.

 

On June 6, 2026, he presented his major solo exhibition Jiazi – Illusion at Origo Club in Vancouver, Canada. In September of the same year, he participated in the four-artist group exhibition Picking Up the Light, sharing 0ur Future at Ji Space in Vancouver.

In 2018, he presented his solo exhibition Appearances at Pendulum Gallery in Vancouver, Canada. In April of the same year, he once again participated in the international OpenArtCode exhibition, held at the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence, Italy.

In 2017, he was invited to participate in the OpenArtCode exhibition in Paris, France.

In February 2016, An participated again in the OpenArtCode exhibition in Venice, Italy. During the same year, he also took part in several exhibitions organized by the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), including Limitless, the Active Members Exhibition, and the Culture Exhibition. His work Going Home received Third Place in the Culture Exhibition.

In August 2015, he participated in Divergent Realities at Agora Gallery in New York. Earlier that year, on May 4, he presented his solo exhibition The Descending of horror at the Richmond Cultural Centre in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.

In March 2014, he participated in Agora Gallery’s Spring Exhibition in New York. In November of the same year, he took part in the OpenArtCode exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris, France.

In 2013, he signed with Agora Gallery in New York.

In 2012, he was invited to participate in a group exhibition organized by the Delta Arts Council. He subsequently became a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) and participated in its Works on Paper group exhibition.

In 2011, he participated in a special art exhibition organized by the Delta Arts Council, where he received an award.

In 2010, he joined the Vancouver Chinese Artists Association and participated twice in its group exhibitions. In July of the same year, he held another solo exhibition in Delta.

In December 2009, he participated in a group art exhibition. Earlier that year, in January, he held a solo exhibition with the White Rock Arts Council. He also joined the Delta Arts Council that year.

In 2008, he joined the White Rock Arts Council, marking the beginning of his increasingly active involvement with local Canadian arts organizations and exhibitions
