The solo exhibition Jiazi Illusion by renowned artist JianJun An, jointly presented by the Space Art Development Foundation and the NPC Art Foundation, officially opened on June 6.​ More than a retrospective of the artist’s sixty-year life journey and creative career, the exhibition showcases his ongoing exploration and integration of reality and fantasy, as well as traditional and digital art. At the opening ceremony, Li Feng, exhibition host and Chairwoman of NPC Art Academy, explained that “Jiazi” refers to a complete sixty-year cycle in the traditional Chinese calendrical system, symbolizing the accumulation, reflection, and transformation of  JianJun An life experiences and artistic achievements over six decades. “Illusion,” meanwhile, points to the artist’s rich inner world, encompassing his imagination, dreams, and long-standing spiritual explorations. Subtitled “Two Worlds, One Soul,” the exhibition highlights two major dimensions of JianJun An artistic practice. Rooted in reality, one body of work captures the diversity of society and the nuances of human life through the artist’s keen observation. The exhibited pieces include humorous and engaging anthropomorphic animal figures, as well as emotionally charged paintings. Filled with warmth and humanity, these works reflect the artist’s profound contemplation of human nature, social phenomena, and the changing times.​The second part of the exhibition invites visitors into a futuristic and imaginative universe. Monumental mechanical structures, aircraft floating above seas of clouds, and mysterious, expansive otherworldly spaces come together to create an artistic realm that transcends the boundaries of reality. Here, time and space are redefined, while dreams and reality intertwine, guiding viewers on a poetic journey of imagination and reflection. The exhibition fully demonstrates JianJun An ability to balance critical observations of reality with the pursuit of ideals, while revealing the breadth and uniqueness of his artistic vision. Particularly noteworthy is that "Jiazi Illusion" not only presents the artist’s significant recent works but also traces his evolving journey from traditional painting into the realm of digital art. Through the fusion of diverse media and innovative approaches, JianJun An has infused his artistic expression with new vitality, embracing an increasingly open and multifaceted creative practice.​ "Jiazi Illusion" marks an important milestone in JianJun An artistic career and offers audiences a rare opportunity to engage deeply with the artist’s thoughts, imagination, and creative universe.
